The Department of Safety at Messiah College has an immediate opening for the full-time position of Safety Officer. This is a year round position with work days of Wednesday through Sunday and hours from 7 pm - 3 am.
This community-focused position is responsible for helping to foster and safeguard a climate conducive to learning and working. The purpose of this position is to provide security and protective services oversight to the campus, ensuring the preservation of personal safety of the college community, and to cultivate positive relationships with the community at large.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge/Certifications Required for Position include: Basic investigative skills; Basic Clery/Higher Education knowledge/training; Intermediate computer skills – ability to learn campus software and Microsoft Office within first 30 days of employment; First Aid/CPR/AED Certification required – certified within first 30 days of employment; Handcuffing/OC Spray/SFST Certification – must be certified in first 2 years of employment.
