Instructional Support Technician (SL-3) (50%, college-year)
The department of anthropology invites applications for an Instruction Support Technician for our biological anthropology lab classes.
Anthropology Laboratory Technician Position duties include:
- Supporting molecular anthropology based lab courses in the Anthropology department, training graduate and undergraduate students in laboratory techniques, prepping labs prior to classes, ordering supplies for labs, and running samples generated in labs on the automated sequencer, real-time PCR machine, or other genotyping measures. training of students includes laboratory operation, safety measures, preparation for research prospectus, sample archiving and retrieval, and lab methods. This position also requires maintaining and running the automated DNA sequencer for the department to support these classes and the researchers using the machine. - Bachelor's degree or higher required
- Previous lab experience in genetics and molecular biology
- Master's degree
- Teaching and/or mentoring experience in a laboratory setting.
