Messiah College currently has an opening for the position of Executive Assistant to the President and Assistant to the Board of Trustees.
Responsibilities: This full time, year round position provides high level, professional support to the President's Office and Board of Trustees, and is a member of a team of two who manage first line triage to key constituents.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible executive support or administrative experience. Strongly prefer experience in higher education or executive setting; successful experience with event planning and execution.
Skills and Characteristics: Excellent communication and critical thinking skills as well as the ability to exercise sound judgment; outstanding organizational and project management skills including the ability to take initiative and independently and effectively prioritize tasks and manage shifting priorities; detail oriented and able to understand complex material; strong interpersonal and relationship management skills for working effectively with internal and external constituencies; ability to handle difficult situations effectively and with care; excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to craft correspondence, edit presentations, and proof-read expertly; ability to manage ambitious deadlines and competing priorities successfully; expert proficiency in MS Office Suite including proficiency in building spreadsheets and utilizing database software to develop reports in Excel; proficiency in Outlook email, including the ability to leverage Outlook for schedule management purposes; expert proficiency in social media formats including proficiency with Facebook, Instagram and Twitter; ability to work with web pages, including editing the executive's web page as requested; ability to effectively manage office budget processes; ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and the ability to deal appropriately with sensitive information; must possess a thorough knowledge of professional office procedures; appropriate discretion and management of confidential information at all times.
