Summary: Oversees all work scheduling and coordinating of the maintenance and repair of all
equipment, buildings and grounds. Performs inventory control and performance monitoring of
the maintenance function. Coordinating maintenance work to achieve the most effective
utilization of materials and equipment is a significant aspect of the work. Work may include the
supervision of laboring personnel providing support services. The employee has frequent
contact with management to plan and prioritize maintenance objectives. Our goal is to build a
good product with an emphasis on quality, safety and regulatory compliance and legality.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Scheduling and coordinating maintenance and repair work on all mechanical, electrical
and electronic equipment, and instrumentation and building, facility and grounds areas;
receives work requests for corrective maintenance on equipment and physical
structures; ensures scheduling and coordinating activities are updated as maintenance
and repair priorities change; proficient use of scheduling techniques in developing
preventive and corrective maintenance schedules; directs the formulation of work
standards on maintenance and repair activities; assures effective scheduling and
coordination of maintenance activities.
Confers with management to provide information on improving the utilization and
efficiency of the facility; works to facilitate the scheduling needs of maintenance and
repair activities; maintains communication with engineering, management and
operational personnel to identify priorities and objectives; implements scheduling
procedures to achieve identified objectives.
Directs inventory control of the tools, materials and equipment necessary for preventive
and responsive maintenance work; receives requests for materials, tools and equipment;
checks inventory stock for availability of needed supplies; reviews purchase requisitions
for needed supplies and forwards them to superior for review and approval; maintains
adequate inventory levels.
Ability to utilize a computer to enter and extract maintenance and repair documentation,
such as developed preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
Performs predictive diagnostic tests on plant operational equipment as assigned.
Performs related work as required.
Procures supplies for plant.
Interacts with employees and vendors in-person and on the telephone in a courteous
and professional manner.
Food Safety and Responsibilities:
Ensure that all records are kept in a organized and neat manner.
Ensure tools are inventoried before and after maintenance is performed.
Ensure shop is clean and orderly.
Ensure all food grade lubricants are marked and organized separately.
Ensure product is protected from contamination during repairs.

Equivalent to completion of the twelfth school grade and two to four years related experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Methods, practices, materials, tools and equipment commonly used in building
maintenance and repair activities.

Mathematics applicable to determining job requirements.
Work measurement methods and techniques.
Methods and techniques used in preparing cost estimates for materials and equipment.
Computer program applications used to enter and extract maintenance and repair
Experience with grain handling and packaging equipment/machinery preferred
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common prints/schematics.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to
physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions required of a position
in this class.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word;
Microsoft Excel; Microsoft explorer and Microsoft Outlook.
