Instructor of Environmental Studies
King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, is seeking an Instructor of Environmental Studies, non-tenure track, beginning in August 2019.
King’s College has a well-established Environmental Program offering bachelor’s degrees in environmental studies and science within the setting of a small college committed to providing excellent professional programs and a strong liberal arts experience. The Environmental Program seeks an instructor with a passion for teaching at the undergraduate level who can complement the current curriculum and teach four courses per semester.
Requirements include a master’s degree in a field that can contribute to the environmental studies curriculum and proven experience teaching at the college level. The instructor will demonstrate a willingness to help broaden the scope of the program, perhaps in a topic area such as sustainability. The successful applicant will also help with student recruitment, retention, advising, program outreach, undergraduate research, and other activities related to program development. Preference will be given to applicants with significant experience teaching college-level courses, especially those related to environmental studies (including online and field-based), as well as experience helping students develop academic skills needed for their success.
Successful candidates will support the Holy Cross Mission and Catholic identity of the College, and be committed to teaching at an institution where the liberal arts are emphasized.
