About the NeuroCognitive Institute (NCI)
The NeuroCognitive Institute was founded in 1998. We specialize in diagnosing and treating cognitive, neuropsychiatric and neurobehavioral disorders in pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. NCI outpatient clinics are located in Monmouth, Ocean, Morris, Somerset, and Essex County NJ. We also have a very active clinical research division conducting early-late drug development, functional brain mapping and neuromodulation research. Our clinics are affiliated with the RWJBarnabas, St. Clare’s, St. Luke’s and the Atlantic Healthcare systems. We also have a partnership with University Radiology and use their MRI scanners throughout NJ for our fMRI and DTI imaging.
About the position
We are expanding our mental-health related services for our patients at NCI. We are adding one or more clinical psychologists and other mental health clinicians to our clinical and clinical research staff. We have part-time or a full-time position in our Livingston, Mt. Arlington and/or Bedminster clinics for a clinical psychologist to evaluate and treat our patients who have a variety of primary and secondary neuropsychiatric disorders. Clinical psychologists specializing in pediatrics, adolescents, adult or geriatrics are encouraged to apply as the positions can be tailored based on the candidate’s expertise and area of interests. Generalized who treat children through adult patients are also encouraged to apply. This position combines diagnostic, treatment and if interested, clinical research duties. This position provides a critical role on the interdisciplinary team. Primary duties include diagnostic exams and psychiatric testing, as well as, providing individual psychological and behavioral treatments. Additional duties include integrating family consultations and developing therapeutic groups. Candidates with other specific sub-specialties are encouraged to apply. Supervision of master-level staff, medical and clinical psychology students, externs and interns is also required for full-time positions.
At least 2 years of clinical experience in clinical psychology; post-doctoral years can count towards years of clinical experience. The candidate must also be licensed or licensed eligible in NJ and have a Medicaid or be eligible for Medicaid provider number. Post-doctoral fellowship training in one or more of the clinical psychology disciplines and board certification is preferred.
