SUNY Broome Community College has a full-time, tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor in the Nursing Department available beginning Fall 2018. SUNY Broome’s Department of Nursing has an Associate Degree Nursing program that offers a full-time day and an evening-weekend program option. Program development in the upcoming years will focus on enhanced programmatic competitiveness through designing innovative curriculum and program delivery methods to address the healthcare delivery reform initiatives facing healthcare in the State of New York and to meet the learning needs of today’s associate degree nursing students.
Master’s degree in nursing is required. Additional graduate coursework in appropriate field is desirable. Minimum of three years teaching experience or an appropriate combination of teaching and relevant work experience is required. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated interest and ability in the use of alternative and innovative instructional methods, including technology-supported learning. Must be NYS licensed RN or eligible for same, and have the ability to teach a variety of nursing subjects in the classroom, lab, and clinical setting. Candidates should also have experience in working with diverse populations.
Successful candidate will demonstrate strength in teaching, the ability to work with and develop nursing faculty, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration with other academic programs within the division and community. Applicants should be prepared to provide sound direction and focused leadership in a learner-centered environment, and have a strong commitment to the community college mission. Assistant Professor salary range is $46,750 to $58,438. Salary offer will be based on qualifications.
