SUNY Broome Community College is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic candidate for a full-time, 12-month position as Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator. This position reports to the Director of Health and safety.
Successful candidate will: advise the Director on the development of emergency management, environmental, health and safety programs and implement these programs as developed; act as a resource person in the environmental, fire and safety inspections on campus, classroom activities and work practices to ensure compliance with EPA, PESH and/or OSHA standards as well as other applicable state/federal safety regulations; He/She will be responsible for developing and delivering environmental and occupational safety training and educational programs, researching technical areas and making required reports.
Bachelor’s degree required. Degree specialization in environmental safety, industrial hygiene, occupational safety or other functionally relevant field desirable. Relevant work experience may substitute for degree specialization depending upon qualifications. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in environmental safety, industrial hygiene, or a technical, scientific, engineering or related field required. Candidate must have a sincere dedication to the field of Environmental, Health and Safety with a willingness to be on call 24/7 as needed. Possession of a valid New York State Driver’s License required. Salary minimum $ 48,676.
